Stem Cell Method Saves Embryos
A biotech says it's found a way to get stem cells without destroying human embryos. That would seem to eliminate the main objection to embryonic stem cell research, which backers say could lead to cures for many illnesses. Advanced Cell Technology says it takes a single cell from an early-stage embryo and uses it to seed a stem cell line. The embryo could still develop normally.
Question: if Bush and other conservatives had just caved to the liberal demands, which could eventually have led to "Fetus Farming" as even now wealthy, white American women are flying to Europe to get stem-cell injections to make them look young; would the above discovery even have been pursued?
This is the core difference between Americans and Europeans, we still set limits based on some reasonable level of morality like saving the lives of unborn children and, preventing yet undiscovered complications for women who start "conceiving for dollars", then we seek ways to succeed around those limits otherwise known as the win-win outcome.
This is why people like John Kerry, who believes we should emulate Europe are so dangerous to the future of this country.
